Welcome to the home of the new Sacramento (CA) NTrak Club. Our goal is to do what most NTrak clubs do; increase public awareness of our hobby by displaying and running trains (as well as teaching and increasing our knowledge of the history of our area), sharing modeling expertise and help, and having a good time. While all eras and railroads will be welcomed, the plan is to focus on modeling the greater Sacramento (northern California) area when the railroads played a much greater part (pre 1970s). This does not mean that modern superpower and unit trains are not invited to share the rails (they are), but the fallen flags of the Southern Pacific, Western Pacific, Santa Fe, Sacramento Northern, Tidewater Southern, and others (along with the Union Pacific) will be the main focus. Modelers of all levels of experience are invited to join as this is to be a place to help increase everyone’s knowledge and share your specific talents. The only requirements are a love of N scale trains and that you live somewhere close enough where you can participate. Meetings are once a month, usually the third weekend of the month. For those who meet these requirements: Come on in! |

The Group was founded by the late John Cornish in February 1996, and originally met in the Church Hall in Lowther Street, York. Just over 20 people attended that first meeting, and membership has remained steady since then with between twenty and thirty members regularly attending the monthly meetings. |

The Illinois Central Gulf and Calumet Railroad is a "protolanced" HO scale model railroad set in the late 1970's. The layout will contain elements of the ICG from Chicago to Champaign as well as Decatur, Illinois. In addition, the freelanced Calumet Railroad is also featured. The design has been created with operations as the ultimate goal with heavy overhead traffic, as well as local and urban switching. Interchange with the GTW, EJ&E, and IHB in the Chicago area will provide additional operational interest. Steel mill operations are prominently featured. |

| A portable N scale project railroad which is featured in the N Scale Railroading magazine. My name is Mike Pagano and I have put together a series of articles with the help from other modelers to illustrate topics of portability, light weight construction, resiliency, and reliability. We also wanted to to build a layout based on prototype information, new techniques and have fun building it. |

Welcome to my n scale model train layout which represents an area of the Chartiers Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Chartiers Branch was basically a water level route just south of Pittsburgh that crossed the Chartiers Creek about 20 times between Carnegie, PA and Washington, PA. The layout is 36"' x 80" and is built on a foam covered hollow-core door. Enjoy your visit. |

The GNC is set around the harbor of Tacoma, Washington in the late 60's. Motive power for the GNC is all first and second generation diesels from ALCO and EMD. As a belt line railroad that serves the docks, piers and harbor industries, the GNC interchanges with several class 1 railroads at Tacoma including the Northern Pacific, Union Pacific, and Milwaukee Road. The Great Northern Railway hauls the GNC's mainline tonnage north to Seattle and south to Portland. In addition to interchange runs, several terminal transfers between the GNC's Coastline Yard and the Water Street Yard will be run during an operations session. |

The RC&W is a free-lance bridge railroad set in the late 1950’s connecting Midwestern to Western locales beyond the railroad. The main yard, River City, is a division point between the East (Chicago) staging yard and the West (Los Angeles) staging yard. Thus both through freight and passenger trains crossing the layout in both directions and locals operating out of River City in both directions make for interesting operations. In addition, the American Steel Corp. has an integrated steel plant operating in River City, receiving raw materials from mines on the layout and shipping product in all directions. It also has in-process movements of coal, coke, ore, limestone, lime, scrap, hot metal, slag, and ingots handled by its own switch engines. |
